Brief Description:
Families and Politics Family differences over politics are uniquely challenging. If you want to preserve important family bonds while still being true to your values and political beliefs, this in-person workshop will help you recognize the common roles that family members play in political conversations and develop the skills to handle family political differences in a constructive way. Although the focus is on family relationships, you can use what you learn in this workshop with any loved one. You’ll laugh and have some fun in this workshop—it won’t be all serious. After all, we all come from quirky families.
Workshop Format: This free 3 hour workshop is offered in person.

Learn to communicate more effectively across political differences. Choose the "red" or "blue" version based on your leanings—each uses different examples, but teaches the same skills. Not red or blue? Pick one for practice. You’re also welcome to take both.
This course helps you become more aware of your own inner polarizer, learn to be critical without stereotyping or showing contempt, and build skills to respond constructively when conversations turn toward ridicule or dismissiveness.
This course teaches skills to avoid contributing to polarization on social media, decide when to engage or disengage, and interact more constructively. It focuses on your own behavior, not the broader social media climate. Example posts are real, edited for instruction.
